About Candice Rugg

Candice Marie Rugg, PMHNP is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a focus on medication management and substance use disorders. She also provides evidence-based psychotherapy for trauma, anxiety and depression. Since 2011, Candice has worked in community mental health in both outpatient and inpatient settings providing individual therapy and medication management. Her clinical interests focus on treating mood disorders, trauma, relationship conflict and interpersonal challenges. She is also interested in utilizing mind-body approaches to facilitate weight loss and support harm reduction for patients coping with substance use disorders.

 

Candice has a passion for helping each patient meet their individual treatment goals and uses a holistic approach to clinical care. She currently offers daytime, evening and weekend appointments for medication management and psychiatric services to adults in the downtown and pacific heights neighborhoods of San Francisco and across the state of California via video-medicine.

 

Candice received her advanced degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She received specialty training in complex medication management and substance use disorders from The San Francisco Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Candice completed her nursing degree at Samuel Merritt University and her undergraduate training from Mills College.
