About Dr. Russo

Dr. Russo is a licensed clinical psychologist with unique expertise in gender, identity development, and psychodynamic theory. She has extensive experience working with individuals coping with depression, anxiety, identity or life transition, trauma, and relationship issues. Dr. Russo is dedicated to understanding where problematic patterns begin and utilizes the therapeutic relationship to help her patients notice how and when old patterns are inhibiting their ability to thrive. She helps reduce distress by supporting patients in making meaningful change in their lives while helping them gain access to their full range of emotional experience.

Dr. Russo works with adults, and couples in San Francisco, Berkeley and via video-medicine across the State of California.

Dr. Russo completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in department of General Psychiatry and her predoctoral internship at Access Institute for Psychological Services. She received her doctorate degree from the Wright Institute. Dr. Russo serves on the board for Northern California’s Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology and has lectured on the topic of transgender healthcare at conferences and in educational settings.
